Joyeux Anniversaire :)

Bonjour à tous!!

First blog post as a 21 year old! I've been having a lot of 21 year old "firsts" recently, most of which have only served to annoy Hannah/anyone in my near vicinity, but I'm SO EXCITED about being 21 that I don't really mind that much.

Han was in my room when it turned midnight, so I was officially 21; I think I was the most excited person in the history of the universe to turn it too lol; I was dancing/screaming/running around for at least 20 minutes into my birthday, good good times. On the actual day I had my birthday bagel :-D and had a massive night out... un peu messy but amaaaazing, such a good night! Only made it to 4 out of the 7 pubs on the list before I decided I needed to go home lol but was a really good night anyway.

Florence and the Machine were incredible too; the atmosphere was immense and Han and I both left being a little bit in love with her lol. I've put photos up on Facebook and videos of it will be up soon. There was a strike on in the evening/day which was lame cause it meant we had to trek (literally) half way across Lyon by foot in order to get to it, but it was such a good gig that it was definitely worth it.

I dropped Guy off at the airport this morning and had a really good couple of days with him :-) I showed him some of the various sights in Lyon and he came out with my friends on Friday night to a few Irish bars and then to Wallaces where there's a live band every Friday which was immense, and we did a quick visit to Ayer's Rock which is an Australian club that I absolutely love which is good. We made him to a T Bomb (Tequila instead of Jaeger) and a shot which has Tabasco in it... very very good night! And last night (Saturday) him and I went out for a meal in Vieux Lyon. I took him to the Stade de Gerland where OL play, and we were accosted by a French film crew who tried to get me to say something about the football team... did not happen lol, it was practically harassment to be honest, we had to walk away and they were still trying to get me to do it! And Guy met my friend Marco who's French, and he asked if Guy spoke any French and Guy said "une petite pois" (a little pea) rather that "une petite peu" (a little bit) lol which was funny. It was really nice having him here for a couple of days :) plus he got me a really nice necklace from Ernest Jones for my birthday, and he also brought some presents over from Mum and Dad which was nice.

I've finally managed to book my flights home for my birthday/Easter! I'll be home in the morning of Tuesday 30th March, and I'm flying back to Lyon on the morning of Thursday 8th April, and then I'll just have a month and a half before I leave Lyon for good, which is a scary thought! I need to get on with my Dissertation and things; ahhh!

Other than that; not much news to report! It's St Patricks Day on Wednesday so we're all going to go out to the Irish bars in Vieux Lyon and paint shamrocks on our cheeks and try and wear green which should be a fun night; however I'm currently very poor so am going to have to try and reel back the spending in the next month until I get my next loan installment on 19th April; bring it on!

Will write again when I can!

Bisous! Jess xx
